Before taking PUB101, I always wanted to have a personal blog, a place where I can express myself. It was hard to choose a topic because there is a lot of topics that I want to talk about, but none of them had a specific theme. I wanted to create a baking blog, a storytelling blog, a place to visit, hidden treasures in the lower mainland, etc. But I didn’t have enough material to complete a semester. When Suzanne mentions creating a blog about something that passionates me, something that I love to talk about and something that I know, my mind landed in the makeup zone.
We need to encourage more writers, to be able to express themselves. Personally, when I watch videos and I see people doing something wrong or encouraging something dangerous, I cringe. So I encouraged myself to be on the other side like Erin Glass mentions in the article Why we need social paper, we need more people to speak up and share their opinions and I hope I can do so on this term.
I have been doing my makeup for more than eight years. I follow hashtags on Instagram and Pinterest about makeup processes and makeup related content. I have watched a lot of Youtube and Instagram videos. But I felt that a lot of information out there wasn’t complete or it was wrong. As part of my opinion, influencers have to inform their audience as they become role models, and some viewers can get influenced, and eventually harm themselves.
Probably this website will stir away from my vision board, as most of the content that I have planned is about safety measurements and learning about the process. My theme probably will change 100 times before I decided on one. But I intend to keep the topic, but sometimes it will be written creatively or with a goofy sense of humour.
